Off to the Dance

Emily flew in from California just in time to go to the Valentine's dance at the church with Lauren.  Here are some photos I took after they were all dressed and ready.  Lauren bought the shoes a month ago and then asked me to take her shopping last Saturday so she could find a dress to go with them  She did a good job picking one out;  I think she looks really cute!  Lauren and Emily got dressed upstairs and were noting how hard it was to walk downstairs in high heels.  Emily said she felt like she was going to fall and Lauren agreed.  I suggested they may want to take them off rather than risk it.  But they are teens, "What risk?"

Now for a close up shot so we can get a better look at their beautiful faces.
And of course, a close up of the shoes!

I look at these two beautiful young women and I am amazed at how they look and act and how mature they are.  It makes me think of when they first met when the Smiths and the Millers moved in next door to each other and the girls were only 4 years old.  The first time Lauren and I went next door to ask Emily to play, she ran upstairs and hid.  That kind of shyness didn't last long and they soon became inseparable.

Just for some perspective, here is a picture of the way their parents will remember them no matter how grown up they get!  They were cute then too!
