It's Snowing!

On Thursday, the weathermen predicted flurries for Saturday, that prediction was upped to 1 to 2 inches on Friday. Late Friday, the new forecast was more than 2 inches. Early this morning they decided it would be 3 to 5 inches. Well, here we are on Saturday evening, we have 5 inches and it is still coming down. A fun surprise for early December. I have to admit, I thought I had several more weeks to make sure that everyone had snow pants, mittens and boots. I wasn't sure that I could even come up with a coat for everyone but we got out the bins of snow gear this morning to see what we could pull together. Fortunately, most kids still fit the snow pants that I bought last year. Lauren was the only one I couldn't find a coat for but she managed in a couple of sweatshirts. Boots? Thankfully the sneakers will dry out.

What were our plans for Saturday? I don't remember. But we have played in the snow to our hearts content. We have a snowman in the front yard as well as a snow alien. Snowball fights and snow angels filled in the rest of the time. The walks and drive were cleared but the snow is still coming down. I have snow gear strewn from the front door to the back. And we have cinnamon rolls baking in the oven for dinner. The pot of hot cocoa has been replenished several times today. Tomorrow it is expected to reach 42 degrees which means the snow will not be here long. We will enjoy it while we can!
