Starting Summer Right

Summer started with a bang with Cub Scout Day Camp. School had only been out a few days when all the fun started. Ten boys gathered for lots of fun activities to build friendships and pass of requirements. Day one started with a fun hike from Riverside Park to Great Falls. They were looking for poisonous plants, identifying birds, marveling over enormous bugs and collecting interesting seeds and leaves. Other days of camp had picnics, geocaching, a bike ride up the trail to get frozen custard at the end, and a trip to the Air and Space Museum as well as the fire station. A special highlight was a trip downtown to the premiere of Cars 2. When their pack was introduced as part of the VIPs in attendance, one of the boys leaned over to the kid next to him and exclaimed, "We're famous! People are going to want our autographs." The boys had a great time, thanks to some fabulous leaders who did a fantastic job pulling the week together.
