A Mother's Fantasy Come True

You know those little fantasies that you sometimes have as a mother?

No, not those.

The ones where your perfect children have surprised you by having the house cleaned and dinner cooked and are getting along perfectly with one another. Today I got to enjoy one of those come true. I walked in the house from church and was greeted by the aroma of meatloaf and potatoes being pulled out of the oven. Ahead of me was this view of the table, set properly, with a tablecloth. The house was clean (thanks in good part to Saturday chores, but still clean 24 hrs later is an accomplishment) and the children were happy and smiling.

Such a nice way to start our Sabbath evening. Dinner was followed by a visit from our home teachers, where once again, the kids cooperated, participated and were pleasant to be around. This was followed by an ice cream treat, mostly because I was in a good enough mood to grant the request. I have to say thanks to the two girls who made it all possible, Sarah and Geral. They stayed home from church today because they weren't feeling well but they weren't too sick to pull off this treat for me.

Thanks girls!
