Playing in the Leaves

It isn't often that you get a warm perfect day in November. It was much too nice to stay inside so we neglected our chores today and went out to play. The first order of business was to rake up a big pile of leaves. Rachel and Geral got out rakes to help me and it didn't take us long to rake up all the leaves under the maple into a large pile. Rachel kept asking me if she could jump in. I kept telling her yes but she wouldn't do it until I put my rake away. When she was sure that she had all the leaves she was going to get, she threw herself into the pile. Geral was a little more hesitant but she liked the way the leaves crunched as she ran through the pile. Eventually, she giggled as she sat in the leaves but she did not like being completely buried. Rachel loved to be buried and pop back out.

After we had exhausted all our options in the leaves, the girls asked to get their bikes out of the garage and it wasn't long until they had talked me into letting them ride their bikes to the playground. We played until we were hungry enough to come home for lunch. Then, because it was early day at the elementary, William and Sarah came home and the fun started all over again. Leaves, bikes and playground again. We didn't come in until it was dark and time for dinner. A lovely day!

Our warm day went almost the same, leaves and bikes, what else is there?
