Our Thanksgiving activities began on Tuesday with a feast at the preschool. The children dressed up as Indians and got to create their own Indian name. Introducing.... Princess Dancing Snow!

The kids enjoyed the feast with the pumpkin pie being the most popular dish. Dancing Snow only ate a corn muffin and 3 pieces of pie. After seconds I told her she couldn't have thirds so that others could have seconds if they wanted to. Lucky for her, Geral had asked for pie then chose not to eat it and offered it to her sister. Here is a picture of the whole group singing their Thanksgiving songs.
Thanksgiving morning started off much too early because Lauren and Steven wanted to participate in the annual Turkey Bowl. The morning was gray, cold and foggy and I was glad the game was taking place just two blocks up the street so that I didn't have to get out and drive them there. I did show up an hour later to take some pictures.
Lauren huddled up with her team planning the next great play!
Those who braved the fog and mud for the love of sport!
After the game was over, Lauren and others decided to wallow in the mud a bit. Reports are that they made mud angels and managed to get at least one not very reluctant young man dunked in a mud puddle. Needless to say, she went straight to the shower when she got home and once again I was glad she was walking and I didn't have to put that muddy mess in my car.
Dinner followed later in the day. It was just our family this year. I think this is the first year we have ever celebrated alone. It gave us time to work on a big project around the house but that is another entry. Sarah helped with the rolls and the salad. The kids asked me why I was making so many pies when it was just our family. I only made 4 and that was so that everyone could have their favorite. They weren't complaining when it was time for dessert though. We had a Wii bowling tournament between dinner and dessert to give us a chance to make room for pie. I managed to come out with the top score at 173. William and Rachel tied for last place at 113.
At the dinner table.
Geral is ready for pie!
Don't let the looks on their faces fool you, they really want that mud pie with worms!
Yum! Pie!
