A Quiet Sunday Evening

The nice thing about a four day weekend is the lack of panic on Sunday evening about homework and projects that have been procrastinated since Friday afternoon.  With school not starting until Wednesday, we have two more days to put it all off.  Steven had a project due last Wednesday which he left to start until Tuesday after dinner.  He was up until almost midnight trying to get it done.  This meant that I was also up until midnight giving him support and proofreading his essays.  As a result, I was way too tired for the rest of the week.  On the plus side, he was one of only four kids in the class who turned in the assignment on time and is pleased that he is receiving some bonus credit for this.   He has a poster due this Wednesday and I hope he gets to work on it sooner.

On Wednesday, Lauren, Steven and Ralph got to go to the temple to do baptisms.  This was Steven's first visit to the temple and he really enjoyed it.  It has been nice that Ralph has been able to accompany the kids on their temple trips.

Saturday, Lauren's basketball team won their game.  My team lost by two points.  I made one of my foul shots but without Dad yelling, "for an ice cream" from the sidelines, I missed the other 3.  Of course, the problem could be that I haven't practiced them in years.

We had a nice Ward Conference today with the focus on temple worship and the blessings that come from participating in the temple.  Several people bore testimony about the blessings they have had in their life by focusing on the temple and family history.  We were headed out the door this morning when I realized that William was still in the bathtub.  Ralph had knocked on the door earlier and warned him that he only had a half hour until we left.  Unfortunately, we didn't follow through and make sure that he got out of the tub.  Ralph left with the other kids while I hustled William out of the tub and into church clothes.  I think he stayed in on purpose hoping that we would leave without him.  He was such a raisin, I don't think his fingertips returned to normal until he was in Primary.
