Both Lauren and William participated in their schools science fair this year. Lauren got a first place at the school and got to go to the regional competition. Her project was "The Effect of Temperature on a Pendulum Clock". Ralph helped her rig up a system to measure the swings of the pendulum and they heated the clock up from 40 degrees F to 100 degrees F and measured how fast it swung.
William made fruit batteries by inserting a piece of zinc and a piece of copper wire. He used a multimeter to measure which fruit conducted the most current. He found that the kiwi worked the best so that was the one he took in to demonstrate at the fair.
