Homecoming Week 2010

Busy, busy week.  At least for Lauren.  This week was homecoming week and Lauren had something going on everyday.  I'll give you the highlights.

Wednesday night was powderpuff football.  Lauren was playing for the Juniors who were dressed in yellow.  They were playing the Seniors who were dressed in orange.  This makes sense because their school colors are blue and green.

She is hard to spot, but Lauren was wearing number 00 and she played the offensive line in the center.  In the picture below Lauren is lined up and ready for the ball to be snapped.

Here is a shot of Lauren in action.  Notice the fabulous blocking skills that she developed during practice.  She put them to good use here.

At the end of the game, despite the biased refereeing, the Juniors prevailed.  This was due in part to Lauren's amazing blocking prowess and in part to the kicker on their team that made the extra point.  Final score:  Juniors - 7, Seniors - 6.  What a game!  And just look at the joy radiating off her face.  You might think that is a yellow handprint, but it is just pure happiness.  Now off to the bonfire.

Friday was the homecoming parade.  Lauren marched with the JV cheer squad.  Steven helped make the freshman float but chose to watch the parade rather than march in it.  You will have to imagine the parade as I neglected to take any photos.  This was because I was too busy watching Rachel, Geral and William chase the candy that was constantly being thrown at them.  Each of them took a bag to collect candy in and came home with quite the haul.  Who needs Halloween when we have the homecoming parade?

Next up, the Homecoming Dance.  Steven got together with some friends to go to dinner and then the dance.  He was told to meet at Lizzie's house where the girls were together getting ready then they were going to Ryan's house for pictures then out to dinner before the dance.  Well Steven was the only guy that showed up at Lizzie's house.  So for the first round of pictures he had the girls to himself.  Not a bad way to start the evening.

Lauren and Holly met at our house to get ready to go.  They decided to skip going out to eat this year and made pizza here.  Then they got dressed up and headed out the door.  So sassy, so flirty, so fun!
